At Laracon India, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy applies to everyone who visits laracon.in — not only to those who register or join the waitlist. By registering for Laracon India, you also acknowledge and agree to the ticket terms set out below.
Information we collect
We may collect personal details such as your name, email, phone number, company name, and payment information when you register or buy a ticket.
If you join the waitlist or submit one of our forms — a talk proposal, a sponsorship enquiry, a travel-support request — we collect what that form asks for, which may include your name, email, phone number, location, and your ticket or accommodation preferences. Those forms are Google Forms, so the responses are stored in our Google Workspace account.
How we use your information
Your information is used to:
- Process your registration and ticket purchases.
- Share event updates and relevant communications.
- Improve your event experience and our services.
Website analytics
Separately from anything you give us when you register, we use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used — which pages people read, how they arrived, and roughly where in the world they are. This applies to everyone who visits laracon.in, whether or not you ever register.
Google Analytics sends Google your IP address, the pages you view, and basic details about your device and browser. We use it only in aggregate, to see what is useful and what is not. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with your registration details. We do not run advertising, and analytics data from this site is not used for ad targeting or shared with advertisers.
Cookies, and why there is no cookie banner. For most visitors, Google Analytics sets a cookie in your browser so that repeat visits can be recognised as the same browser. If you are visiting from the UK, the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, it does not: no analytics cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device at all. Your visit is still counted, but it cannot be linked to any other visit you make. This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no other browser storage anywhere in the world, which is why you are not asked to consent to any — in the places where consent would be required, there is nothing stored to consent to.
We also record how the page itself is used: which buttons and links are clicked, how far down the page you scroll, roughly how long each section is on screen, and which tabs, galleries and videos are opened. This is measured by section and by button, never keystroke by keystroke — we record that the waitlist button in the hero was clicked, not who clicked it. Nothing you type is collected here, and the waitlist form itself is a Google Form governed by the rest of this policy rather than by analytics.
Wherever you are, you can opt out entirely by blocking cookies for this site in your browser, by using any tracking blocker, or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works exactly the same either way. Analytics does not run on our staging or development builds — only on laracon.in itself.
Delegate opt-in
By registering for Laracon India, you confirm that you have opted in to share your personal information for event-related communications and updates.
Sharing your information
Your information is never sold or rented.
Data security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as it is useful for the purpose you gave it to us for.
- Waitlist and form responses — including talk proposals, sponsorship enquiries and travel-support requests — are kept for as long as we continue to run Laracon India, so that we can tell you about future editions, and are deleted when they are no longer needed for that. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
- Registration and ticket records are kept for as long as we are required to retain them for tax and accounting purposes, and deleted after that.
- Website analytics data is deleted by Google after 14 months. Aggregate reports — visitor counts, popular pages — contain no personal information and may be kept for longer.
- Email updates: we keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your waitlist entry or registration may mean we can no longer send you event updates, or honour a booking made under it. Every email we send also carries an unsubscribe link, which removes you from future updates without deleting anything else.
Refund and cancellation policy
No refunds:
- Laracon India does not provide refunds for ticket cancellations.
Ticket transfers:
- If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another attendee by your own choice.
